This axiom has been the bedrock on which stand the inception and the ensuing growth of this reputed institution, A. P. C. Mahalaxmi College for Women, Tuticorin. Fuelled by an innate urge to empower the illiterate masses of his underdeveloped vicinity, and thereby, build up a strong nation with patriotic and socially responsible citizens on the Gandhian principles of peace, non-violence and communal harmony, the institution was established by its Founder President, a well-known philanthropist, and freedom fighter, Kulapathy Sri. A. P. C. Veerabahu.
